Weekend Championship Roundup

2022 All-Ireland 4-Wall Senior Championship, sponsored by O'Neills

Joe McCann & Dominic Lynch pulled off the biggest wins of the weekend as the veteran duo still showed they have plenty of quality to offer.

McCann bounced back from a 21-7 first game loss to #7 seed Niall O'Connor before bouncing back to win the next two games 21-17, 11-5. That sets up a QF next Saturday against Charly Shanks, who had a dominant win over Brendan Fleming.

Kerry's Lynch upset Tyrone's Sean Kerr with a stunning 11-0 tiebreak win, to set up a shootout with Martin Mulkerrins after the Galway man defeated Patrick Funchion in two games.

Elsewhere there were two game wins for Diarmaid Nash, Colin Crehan, Robbie McCarthy and Peter Funchion.

In the Ladies Championship, Kildare's Mollie Dagg advanced in a cracking tiebreak tussle with Sinead Meagher 11-4, whilst former Champion Martina McMahon was pushed to the limit by Ciana Ni Churraoin, prevailing in an 11-7 tiebreak.

There was also wins for Pauline Gallagher and Aishling O'Keeffe, with the top four seeded players (Catriona Casey, Fiona Tully, Megan McCann & Eilise McCrory) entering the fray for next Saturday's QF's.
