The Irish swept the Elite titles at this years US Collegiates in Missouri State University over the weekend, with Cork's David Walsh & Roscommon's Fiona Tully both claiming a Singles & Doubles Slam.
Walsh held his nerve to seal a dramatic 11-10 final tiebreak win over Diarmuid Mulkerrins, before following it up with another epic 11-7 tiebreak win in the Doubles Final. Partnering Adam Walsh for Cork IT, the duo beat an American/Canadian pairing of Ray Ure & Michael Gaulton.
Fiona Tully was a strong favourite heading into these Championships, and justified that position with dominant wins in the Singles over recent All-Ireland Minor champion Mairead Fox (UUJ), before teaming up with Aishling Mullin to bring the Doubles title home for DCU.
