Seventeen of Ireland's finest female handballers take to the courts for their first event of 2020 tomorrow, the She's Ace Ladies Weekend, and a National 4-Wall Ranking event.
Aughagower & Newport HC's in Mayo host the action, kicking off tomorrow evening (Friday) with the Group Stages, ahead of Saturday evenings Finals Night in Aughagower.
The format is a bit different than what the players are used to, with 15 minute timed games being played in the Group Stages. 3 points awarded for a win, 2 points for a Draw, and 1 point if the Losing players scores at least 12 aces.
Now in it's 7th edition, Catriona Casey is back again in a bid to win her 6th title, with Martina McMahon being the only other previous winner. The format lends to shocks and exciting finishes, and gives the next generation a great opportunity to test themselves against a variety of senior players.
