Loughmacrory GAA Handball Club have announced the return of their exciting Wallball Open Tournament this August 12-14th, following two years off due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
It is a well established high profile event which to date, in the first six years at the new One Wall Handball Arena beside the lake (since launched in 2014)
has attracted all the top National and many international stars to play.
The Mens Open champion at the event each year to date has been won by current 5-times National champion and World Champion, Conor McElduff, and has also been won on 2 occasions by Puerto Rico’s former World Champion, Wally Amaro. Martin Mulkerrins, Charly Shanks and Killian Carroll have all been involved in a number of star-studded Mens Open Events.
The Ladies Open has been shared to date by ladies open Senior stars Lorraine McNally, Catriona Casey, Martina McMahon and Megan McCann and there is excitement ahead of a potential cracking ladies open girls again this season.
Both the Mens and Ladies Open will be part of the grades which will play right through Saturday 13th August with the finals of both concluding the Saturday night action this year.
There are grades catering for boys and girls at under 10 level through to 17 & Under with Adult action also in Mens and ladies as per the grades below and on the link.
The Online Entry is now LIVE for the 2022 Lough Wallball Showdown Tournament with our eagerly anticipated event to take place on the weekend of Friday 12th-Sunday 14th August 2022.
Details of Grades etc are on the Link above and the closing date for entries this year will be very strict at midnight on Thursday 28th July 2022.
Entry fees are as follows:
Boys/Girls Under 10 Singles: £10stg / €12euro
Boys/Girls Junior Grades Singles: £15 / €18
All Adult Grades: £20 / €24
All players who enter will be guaranteed 3 matches, with plans for round robin games in round 1, all matches will be played at up to 15/21 with point per rally marking. There will also be drop-down Garde then for all players who do not make it through round 1.

The event has seen entries of 250+ players to date and locally there is the considerable excitement of the return of that annual buzz which manifests at the Lough Wallball Arena in August.
