There was one standout result in last weekends MyClubShop.ie Senior Softball Championship, as young Galway man Diarmuid Mulkerrins shocked Wexford's Gavin Buggy in a thrilling tiebreak.
It proved to be a good day for the Mulkerrins brothers, as older brother Martin took out Michael Gregan on the same programme, leaving a potential all brother SF showdown on the cards still.
Elsewhere there were no major surprises, with experienced Wexford man Barry Goff seeing off Tipperary's Ger Coonan in a tough two game battle.
This Saturday sees the QF's, with the Ladies also starting their campaign at the same stage.
