Softball Singles Finals Tickets Released

Last ever Senior Singles Finals to take place at Croke Park centre

Ticket details have been released by GAA Handball for the MyClubShop.ie All-Ireland Softball Singles Finals. A bumper crowd is expected to descend on HQ this year as the last ever Singles finals programme takes place at the old HQ before the move to the brand new state of the art National Handball Centre later this year.

This years finals promise to be a cracking occasion with three exciting match ups to whet the appetite of any softball enthusiast. First up is the Minor clash of Kilkenny's Kyle Dunne and Monaghan's Eoghan McGinnity two stars with bright futures in the game who will bid to win their first Minor title in the big alley. Dunne will be looking to follow in his brother Shane's footsteps who won the Minor title in 2016 while McGinnity will look to add the Minor Softball title to the 4-Wall titles he has already collected in singles and doubles. This is a repeat of last years U16 final that went to a thrilling third game and don't be surprised if there is a similar outcome on the 7th September.

The Ladies final see's another instalment in one of the great rivalries of the game as Limerick's Martina McMahon locks horns with Cork's Catriona Casey once more. Last year's final was an epic won by the Limerick lady and this year's promises to be just as good! The pair have shared the last 4 titles between them with Casey leading the titles roll of honour 5-2 and following her win in this years 4-Wall final she will be keen to reaffirm her status as the leading lady in the game. McMahon will be eager to atone for that 4-Wall loss earlier in the year in what is set to be another nail biter. Get your seats early for this one as this pair rarely fail to live up to their billing.

Finally the showpiece of the day will be the Mens Open Final with two of the finest exponents of the Softball game taking to the court to do battle for an incredible 11th consecutive year. Kennedy is a 9 time winner appearing in an incredible 16th final in a row and he will want to sign off in style in the place that he achieved so much glory down through the years. McCarthy is appearing in his 11th straight final and has already amassed seven titles. The Mullingar man is in the form of his life and is looking to complete the trio of Senior Singles titles following victory in the 4-Wall and Hardball Senior Singles earlier in the year.

Added to the day will be the sense of nostalgia with a number of items planned by GAA Handball to mark the end of an era as the finals will move to the brand new state of the art National Handball Centre from 2020 so this promises to be an occasion not to be missed.
