Catriona Casey is the player everyone will be gunning for at this weekend’s Golden Gloves in Belfast, as the reigning All-Ireland 4-Wall champion enters as #1 seed in the Ladies Open grade.
A late injury withdrawal from Martina McMahon sees local star Aisling Reilly move up to #2 seed, and she will start her campaign with a QF against Pauline Gallagher (Mayo). In the same bottom bracket, the skilful Fiona Tully will take on Tyrone’s Eilise McCrory in what should be an attacking shootout!
An all Kilkenny encounter between Aoife Holden & Noelle Dowling will see the winner vie for a QF spot against Casey. Casey herself has a rearranged 2020 All-Ireland 4-Wall Final to prepare for in a few weeks time and will be keen to fine tune her game this weekend after what has been a long lay off.
Also in the top half, Megan McCann (Armagh) and Molllie Dagg (Kildare) will face off in what on paper is an evenly balanced matchup between two stars of the future.
