Leinster have won the #ShesAce Girls Interprovincial Team of Ten for the second year in a row at yesterday’s final's in Moyculen with a series of well-deserved wins over Connacht and Munster over the course of the day.
The format sees 5 doubles pairings (U13, U14, U15, U16, U17) compete in 1 x 21 ace game, with points scored on an aggregate basis. With Ulster not fielding a team this year, the remaining three provinces played in a round robin format.
The standard of girl’s handball has improved dramatically in the last 5-10 year, and this was evident on the day with some excellent performances and contests.
Having got the better of Connacht on a 105-28 score-line, Leinster were then put firmly in the driving seat when Munster had a narrow victory over Connacht 81-73. In the final round of fixtures, Leinster won all the games apart from the U16 Doubles and in the end had a conformable victory over Munster 104-66.
Uachtarán Joe Masterson presented the medals and congratulated all the girls on their wonderful performances.
