GAA Handball Funding Success

GAA Handball recently received fantastic news on several funding streams which will be delivered upon in 2022.

A combined effort from GAA Handballs full time staff over the last few months to produce detailed applications saw the below funding awarded to the association, totalling almost €160k.

1) Covid-19 Resilience Schemes - €100k

A reinvigoration of GAA Handball post pandemic. A wide ranging programme targeting areas including: Volunteering, Coaching, Media/PRO, Tournament Grants & Facility Refurbishment.

2) Dormant Accounts - Sport Inclusion - €40k

Developing Handball facilities and playing opportunities for disadvantaged areas via the 1-Wall code of the game, exposing Handball as a recreational activity for the masses.

3) Dormant Accounts - IT Accessibility - €4k

To develop and adapt our resources in line with a new inclusion strategy GAA Handball are currently undertaking with CARA (www.caracentre.ie).

4) Special Projects - Online Coaching Resources - €5k

To develop online coaching content for the rapidly growing 1-Wall code of Handball, to the aid of the continuous stream of new Schools & GAA Clubs taking up the game.

5) Sport Ireland Core Investment - +€10k annual increase

An increase in our annual Core Investment Grant from Sport Ireland for the running costs of GAA Handball.
