The John West Féile na nGael Handball 2020 event is fast approaching with the on-line entry system for this the main Juvenile Club competition of the year just launched. The competitions are being hosted by Dublin/Kildare clubs on Saturday 13th June.
The John West Féile na nGael Handball Event is part of the All-Ireland Féile Club festival for all GAA Clubs aimed at players (both Boys and Girls) between the ages of Under 14 and 10 years old on the 1st January. Like last year the Handball event has it’s very own standalone weekend with Hurling, Camogie and Football Féile on different weekends. This proved a great success with last year’s Handball Féile 4-Wall / 1-Wall event one of the largest ever with almost EIGHTY teams taking part.
The Entry Deadline is midnight Friday 17th April, all teams/clubs are asked to enter at their earliest convenience so that the tournament organisers can gauge participation numbers.
This year’s event in Dublin/Kildare covers our 4-Wall and 1-Wall codes with a separate Softball Féile being organized in August. The 1-Wall competition is confined to clubs with One Wall facilities only. Last year we had 22 teams that took part and we hope this year’s event will be even bigger with even more of our standalone 1-Wall clubs taking part.
Note: Clubs can only enter a maximum of 3 teams per grade.
The Féile event will be run off on the Saturday 13th June with the start time on the Saturday morning at around 10am. Final venues will be determined once final entry numbers are known, but it is hoped to have fixtures released by Friday 15th May, four weeks in advance of the event.
All teams are also requested to send in Team Photos to email@example.com before Friday 24th April to ensure inclusion in Posters for each division/venue.
- Team Photo (1 team photo per team) - in jpeg format 1MB to 2MB in size.
Entry Fee: €40 per Team (including 1 player in the skills event)
As part of the entry fee each player will get a 2020 Féile T-shirt, for most U14 based on previous years’ experience a small t-shirt will be the most appropriate size.
If a club is entering more than 1 team then they should call their strongest team the club name with 1 after it, with 2nd or 3rd team – club name 2 etc.
Finally, if clubs are having problems entering 2 teams on-line, the best solution is to enter 1 team at a time.
