The John West Féile na nGael Handball 2018 event is fast approaching with the on-line entry system for this the main Juvenile Club competition of the year just launched last Sunday at the Gael Linn event in Salthill. The competitions are being hosted by Galway clubs on Saturday 16th June.
The John West Féile na nGael Handball Event is part of the All-Ireland Féile Club festivals for all GAA Clubs aimed at players both Boys and Girls at Under 14 years of age on the 1st January. Like last year the Handball event has it’s very own standalone weekend with Hurling, Camogie and Football Féile on different weekends. This proved a great success with last year’s Handball Féile event one of the largest ever, with over 60 teams taking part.
The Entry Deadline is midnight Friday 20th April, all teams/clubs are asked to enter at their earliest convenience so that the tournament organisers can gauge participation numbers.
Last year we introduced a One Wall competition for the first time. The competition was confined to clubs with One Wall facilities only and 6 teams took part. We hope this year’s event will be even bigger with even more of our standalone One Wall clubs taking part.
The Féile event will be run off on the Saturday 16th June with the start time on the Saturday morning around 11am to facilitate most travelling teams only having to book accommodation on the Saturday night. Final venues will be determined once final entry numbers are known, but it is hoped to have fixtures released by Friday 11th May, five weeks in advance of the event.
All teams are also requested to send in the following to feile.handball@gaa.ie before Friday 27th April to ensure publication in the programme.

For GAA Handball Clubs who don’t have 4/5 players at this age group or younger then they may wish to send one representative to take part in the individual Skills competition on the Saturday afternoon/evening.
Entry Fee: €40 per Team (including 1 player in the skills event)
€10 for an Individual Skills entry
As part of the entry fee each player will get a 2018 Féile T-shirt, for most U14 a small t-shirt will be the most appropriate size.
