Féile 2017 – Entry System Open

The John West Féile na nGael Handball 2017 event is fast approaching with the on-line entry system for this the main Juvenile Club competition of the year just launched today at the Juvenile 40x20 Finals. The competitions are being hosted by Carlow and Wexford clubs on the weekend of the 10th and 11th June.

The John West Féile na nGael Handball Event is part of the All-Ireland Féile Club festivals for all GAA Clubs aimed at players both Boys and Girls at Under 14 years of age. For the first time ever Handball has it’s own standalone weekend (on trial in 2017) with Hurling, Camogie and Football Féile on the two weekends that follow. This should mean that every single Handball Club that have Juveniles should be able to enter a team this year. This should make this event one of the largest Handball Féile Events of all time.

The Entry Deadline is midnight Friday 21st April (five weeks to plan, plus a further SEVEN weeks to train), all teams/clubs are asked to enter at their earliest convenience so that the tournament organisers can gauge participation numbers.

For the first time ever GAA Handball have included a One Wall competition in Féile but this is confined to clubs with One Wall facilities only.

It is hoped to run the 60x30 and One Wall competitions off on the Saturday 10th June with the 40x20 competitions most likely being run over the two days, with an approx. start time on the Saturday at 11am or 12 noon to facilitate travelling teams only having to book accommodation on the Saturday night.

Final venues will be determined once final entry numbers are known, but it is hoped to have fixtures released by Friday 12th May, four weeks in advance of the event.

All teams are also requested to send in the following to before Friday 28th April to ensure publication in the programme.
