It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the death of Galway handballer Denis Phelan (Moycullen, Galway). Denis was a devoted handballer who served at various administrative levels at club, county, provincial and national level including Galway Handball County Secretary and Connacht Handball Chairman.
A gentleman who was always good humoured, Denis will be fondly remembered as a wonderful ambassador for the sport both as a player and an administrator and will be sadly missed by the many friends he made through the game of handball.
GAA Handball extends its deepest sympathies to Denis' heartbroken family, his wife Nora, sons Cian and Donnchadh, his daughter Áine, his extended family and friends and to his handball friends and colleagues around the country
