Cracking 60x30 Programme set for Croker

A cracking bill of 4 Senior Singles SF's are set fro the Croke Park Handball Centre this Saturday from 2pm as the MyClubShop.ie All-Ireland 60x30 Softball Championships reach the business stages.

Cork's reigning 3 time champion Catriona Casey makes her Championship bow after receiving a walkover in the QF. Casey will start as favourite against game Kilkenny player Ciara Mahon, who defeated Casey's Doubles partner Aishlng O'Keeffe in the previous round.

Martina McMahon was very impressive in comprehensively seeing off Niamh Dunne last weekend, and the finalist of the last two years will face a stern challenge against former champ Ashley Prendiville of Kerry. Prendiville showed form of old during her run to the recent 60x30 Nationals final, and will be confident after overcoming Pauline Gallagher last weekend in a tough two game battle.

In the Men's SF, it will be down to Brian Carroll & Seamus O'Carroll if there is to be a new finalist for the first time in seven years. Carroll has 5 Doubles crowns to his name, but will have to overcome 9 time singles champ Eoin Kennedy in order to make his first singles final. Kennedy saw off Carroll's club mate Gary McConnell in the QF, while Carroll survived a three game match with Gavin Buggy.

Making his return to the court this year has gone well for Limerick's Seamus O'Carroll, but he now runs into the Championship hot favourite Robbie McCarthy, and thus will have to find a massive performance to oust the three time champ. McCarthy cruised through his QF with Dominic Lynch displaying his usual sillky hands and soft touches, but O'Carroll will have nothing to lose after sealing his QF progression with a tough 21-19, 21-17 win over Carl Browne.
