Gavin Buggy & Galen Riordan are the pride of Wexford after claiming a brilliant underdog triumph on Saturday when defeating the reigning two time champions Meath (Brian Carroll & Gary McConnell) to win the 2022 All-Ireland Senior Softball Doubles title in Castlebridge HC.
Things didn't look too positive for the Wexford men in the opener as the Meath men showed just why they were strong favourites for this title, storming to a 7-21 win. But spurred on by a vocal home support, Buggy & Riordan responded to win 21-14, 11-2, claiming Wexford's first title in this grade since 2011, and both men's maiden Senior titles.
