Attention turns to Senior Doubles Championship

This weekend sees the Senior 40x20 attention turn to Doubles, with the Senior Men's Semi-Finalists to be confirmed come Sunday evening.

Saturday sees two Back Door prelims taking place in St Comans & Ballymore Eustace, with the 4 QF's then taking place in the same venues on Sunday.

Wicklow's experienced pairing of Michael Gregan & Johnny Willoughby will start as favourites against young Tyrone duo Johnny Woods & Patrick McCrory on Saturday, with the winners vying for a crack at top seeds and ten time champions Paul Brady & Michael Finnegan (Cavan). Also on Saturday sees a match that is difficult to call, as Kilkenny's Intermediate champions Ciaran Neary & Brendan Burke take on Limerick's Irish #5 CJ Fitzpatrick, and his teenage partner Evan Murphy, with the winner progressing to play Leinster Champions Eoin Kennedy & Carl Browne (Dublin).

In the second QF on Sunday, Galway's Martin Mulkerrins & Seamus O’Conghalle have a tricky encounter against Munster champs Dominic Lynch & Jack O'Shea (Kerry), whilst QF 3 is also a tasty encounter as Connacht champs Joe McCann & Vinny Moran (Mayo) facing Tipperary's David Moloney & Ger Coonan in Ballymore Eustace.
