There was a great day’s play in Kingscourt today at the 2nd Level Colleges 40x20 Championships with some really tight games. The Senior Winners were as follows, Kilkenny’s Noelle Dowling, Presentation College, Kilkenny captured the Girls Senior Singles title while the Boys Senior Singles title went to Eoghan McGinnity, St. Macartan’s College Monaghan.
Titles went to the four corners of the country as the cream of the crop came to the top. No one school dominated the titles with TEN different schools taking one title a piece. It was a very good day for Kilkenny handball as they took home four titles, Galway followed with two, while Cavan, Clare, Mayo and Monaghan schools follow with one each.
The 40x20 season has begun in earnest now with the first All Ireland’s decided. Some of these players will meet again through the season for more titanic tussles on the court.
