There was a great day’s play in Kingscourt today at the 2nd Level Colleges 40x20 Championships with some really tight games. The Senior Winners were as follows, Galway’s Niamh Heffernan, Colaiste Baile Clar, Galway captured the Girls Singles title while the Boys Senior Singles title went to Tiernan Agnew, St. Camin’s College Shannon.
At the end of the day Clare schools finished with three titles while Tyrone finished with two while the remaining titles were spread throughout the country with schools in Galway, Kilkenny, Mayo, Monaghan and Tipperary all sharing one title a piece.
The 40x20 season has begun in earnest now with the first All Ireland’s decided. Some of these players will meet again through the season for more titanic tussles on the court. GAA Handball would like to thank the Kingscourt club, the players, referees, parents/teachers and coaches for making the day such a success.
