2019 40x20 Juvenile Boys Team of 6/4 Championship Report

The 2019 40x20 Juvenile Boys Team of 6/4 competitions took place yesterday in Kilkenny and Wexford venues. In total six different counties took part with Kilkenny, Clare and Cork counties taking home the gold medals.

In the U12/13 competition Kilkenny overcame Cork in the second semi-final 90-27 while Tyrone received a walkover from Mayo in the first. In the final the home side proved too strong for the Tyrone team and Kilkenny took the title 90-22.

No doubt we will see these players many times in the future, displaying their high level of handball skills that was on display today.

In the U14/15 competition Clare had a tight seven ace win over a strong Wexford team. In the other semi-final Galway received a bye from Tyrone. While in the final the Clare team won the title when they overcame Galway 80-41.

Finally, in the U16/17 competition Cork had a comfortable win over Wexford in the first semi-final 56-38 while Galway received a bye to the final. In the final the Cork team just edged their Galway opponents on a score-line 49-39.

Congratulations to all the players, coaches, parents and a special word of thanks to the O’Loughlins and St. Joseph’s clubs for their hosting and hospitality yesterday.
