This weekend the 20th - 22nd May 2016 sees the Williamstown Handball Club in Co. Galway host its annual one wall tournament. With just under 100 players competing, it promises to be a great spectacle of handball right across the board from u11 boys and girls to masters and the open grades.
The large numbers of juveniles competing are a great testament to the massive work being put in at juvenile level all across the country with clubs like O’Raghallaigh’s in Drogheda being well represented along with some of the strongholds of handball like our fellow county club Micheál Breathnachs. We thank the coaches and parents of these clubs and indeed all our participants for supporting our tournament.
Our club committee have been busy preparing and now that the tournament is nearly here we are ready to go! Finally I would like to thank our kind sponsors who give so generously to the club each year. A full list our sponsors are below. The tournament starts off on Friday evening at 7pm with all games both cup and plate being held in Williamstown.
SOME GROUPINGS HAD TO BE MERGED AND THIS WILL BE SEEN ON THE DRAW SHEETS. DETAILS OF PLATES WILL BE GIVEN OUT COURT SIDE AND PLAYERS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO PLAY ON REQUEST. PLAYERS SHOULD BE AT THE VENUE AT LEAST 30 MINUTES BEFORE THEIR GAME IS DUE TO START TO REGISTER AND WARM UP.GAMES ARE TIMED IN BOTH PLATE AND CUP.
Take care on the roads and get here in one piece and hopefully we’ll have a great weekend of handball and weather!
