The 2016 She's Ace Festival Weekend of Female Handball is just days away and the draws for the 40x20 competitions have now been released ahead of the Friday start with the Ladies Open.
The Ladies Open section will be run over two days; Friday & Saturday, with the event being a National Ranking Event. Similar to last years format, the ladies will play in group stages before group positioning what level of knockout round (3 tiers) they enter. The top 4 in the Irish Rankings; Aisling Reilly, Catriona Casey, Ciana Ni Churraoin & Martina McMahon are among the 13 elite ladies entered, with several of Ireland's most talented younger players also making the step up to Open.
Saturday will see 150+ games across seven grades (11&U, 13&U, 15&U, 17&U, Ladies Challenger, Ladies B, Ladies Open) ran in six venues across Mayo, with the Finals Night being held in Aughgower HC from 7pm on Saturday Night. Sunday will then see the attention switch to One-Wall, with all competitors playing a mixed team event in Breaffy House Sports Arena, Castlebar.
