After todays Senior Doubles SF's at Kingscourt, we will have a Cork/Mayo Ladies Final & a Clare/Cavan Mens Final at the 2017 O'Neills Doubles Festival Weekend in a fortnight's time.
Having upset reigning champions Dublin last weekend, Kilkenny's Funchion brother Peter & Patrick found the Clare pairing of Diarmaid Nash & Colin Crehan a bridge too far, as the Banner men progressed to their maiden Senior Doubles Final in their first year competing together, 21-13, 21-17,
Standing in their way in Kingscourt in a fortnights time will be two men at the total opposite end of the spectrum having played together for what seems a lifetime, which brought them 10 All-Ireland Doubles Titles, Paul Brady & Michael Finnegan (Cavan). The Cavan duo looked strong in seeing off the challenge of Cork's Tony Healy & Brendan Fleming 21-11, 21-15.
In the Ladies, Cork's Catriona Casey & Aishling O'Keeffe saw off Roscommon youngsters Fiona Tully & Lauren O'Riordan 21-13, 21-4 to remain on course for a 4 in a row. They will now face Mayo's Amy Corrigan & Pauline Gallagher, who received a walkover from Galway's Ciana Ni Churraoin & Sinead Hanley.
