There will be 5 QF matches this weekend between the Mens & Ladies O'Neills 40x20 Singles Championship.
A double header in Crinkle will firstly see Galway shooter Martin Mulkerrins take on Wexford's Gavin Buggy, Mulkerrins was in awesome last time out whilst Buggy showed all his experience and guts to come from 19-10 in the third to defeat Owen McKenna 21-19.
Following that, 3 time champion Robbie McCarthy starts as favourite against Cork's Brendan Fleming. Fleming had an excellent win in the previous round when seeing off former champion Eoin Kennedy 21-18 in the third. He will be hoping to knock out a former champion for the second week running, but the silky McCarthy is another step up and will provide a stern test.
Also on Saturday in Saval, former two time champion steps up her comeback bid from shoulder surgery last year to take on Mayo's Pauline Gallagher. Both met at the She's Ace weekend in January with Reilly coming through in a competitive match. In the match that plays into the Reilly/Gallagher winner, last years finalist Martina McMahon faces Cork's Aishling O'Keeffe in Mallow.
Sunday sees arguably the most enticing match of the weekend as Doubles partners Diarmuid Nash & Colin Crehan does battle. Nash starts as favourite, but Crehan has caused him trouble before and with both players knowing each others game inside out, it bodes for an exciting contest that could swing either way. This takes place in Clooney at 1pm Sunday.
