Five of the eight scheduled games in the 2018 MyClubShop.ie Mens Softball Singles Championship are the Handballing highlight of this weekend, with games tonight (Friday) & tomorrow.
Reigning 6 time champion Robbie McCarthy opens proceedings against Mayo's Vinny Moran tonight in Roscommon, and is the man pretty much everyone is expecting to claim glory come Sept 29th in Croke Park.
Abbeylara will host a double header with a competitive opener between James Brady & David Hope. Offaly man Hope has shown decent form in the big court in recent years and will start favourite. That game will be followed by 9 time champion Eoin Kennedy's encounter with Pat Conway.
The remaining two matches are arguably the most balanced, as #3 seed Gavin Buggy faces Carl Browne, whilst last years Intermediate champion Martin Mulkerrins faces Mayo man Joe McCann.
