National Workgroups - Expressions of Interest

GAA Handball are seeking expressions of interest to fill vacancies on newly established National Workgroups.

The aim of these Workgroups is to review existing processes, and devise new directions across a range of topics. GAA Handball are keen to utilise the wealth of knowledge and experience of our current membership to aid the progression of our sport.

Workgroups will be volunteer based and will be asked to attend a maximum of four online meetings over a six month period, working with a full time staff member. Potential face to face workgroup meetings may replace online meetings if appropriate restrictions are lifted.

Below is a list of proposed new Workgroups and their terms of reference.

  • Schools Handball: Review existing programmes and resources. Guide development of new initiatives, structures and support resources to grow our Schools programme at Primary & Secondary Level. Teachers with Handball knowledge are specifically encouraged.
  • Coach Education: Assist in the review of current structures and pathways. Aid development of new resources & support material. Persons interested in becoming National Coach Developers are also encouraged to apply.
  • Referee Education: Assist in the role out of GAA Handball’s new Referee Education Pathway, specifically the delivery of online and practical workshops.
  • Court Development: Provide advice and guidance on the development of a comprehensive court construction resource for all three court types: (i) 40x20 (ii) 60x30 (iii) 1-Wall.
