PREVIEW: Moycullen Open 2018

The second National Ranking Event of the 4-Wall season takes place this weekend with the first Moycullen Open. Twenty four of Ireland's elite males are confirmed, including some serious talent!

Reigning All-Ireland Champion Martin Mulkerrins enters as top seed, and with home support backing him, he will surely be there or thereabouts coming Sunday's Final. Mulkerrins awaits the winner of Joe McCann & Ger Coonan for his opener.

Clare's Diarmuid Nash, who is currently joint top of the Irish Rankings with Mulkerrins after his impressive showing in claiming the Golden Gloves title last month, will be expecting to build on his recent form and vie for the honours. Nash awaits the winner of Brian Carroll & Vinny Moran.

Multiple All-Ireland Champion Robbie McCarthy also enters his first event of the season and will no doubt be confident of taking the honours this weekend. The supremely talented Mullingar man is in the top half of the draw alongside Mulkerrins, with a potential cracking SF in store on Sunday morning if all seedings prevail.

Games begin at 5pm tomorrow Friday 14th, with eight Preliminary Round matches down for decision.

The Moycullen Club will also be officially opening their second 40x20 court with a short ceremony tomorrow at 6pm.
