Mallow GAA Handball Club will be holding its Annual Open One Wall Tournament on this Sat 28nd & Sun 29th May 2016. The tournament has attracted over 140 competitors from all over Ireland and last years tournament was described as one of the best handball tournaments ever held in Ireland.
This years tournament will be one of largest One Wall Handball Tournament in the county, with a total of five One Wall courts playing twenty games an hour! It will consist of both a male and female two-day pool play bracket format best described as a division broken into several separate round robin groups called flights. Players compete for final standings within their flight, where winners and runner ups from each flight advance to the knockout stage to compete for the division championship.
The tournament will be held across two venues in Mallow town and entrants will range from under 11 to over 70, in separate male and female competitions.
There's loads to do in Mallow next weekend. Mallow Swimming Pool has very kindly offered us a special tournament rate for everyone involved or visiting the tournament (€3 person - adult or child) or else you could check out Ballyhass Lakes Activity Center!
The Mallow Home and Garden Exhibition Festival is on at Mallow Race Course or you might head to the Gate Cinema Mallow instead. There'll be good food and great entertainment in the Gallery Bar & Restaurant. So, time to start planning your weekend folks!
