Liscarroll Handball Club is one of the best know Handball Clubs in Ireland and has consistently brought ‘honour and glory to the little village’ with victories at All Ireland and World level. Each year a major Munster Open Juvenile Tournament for boys and girls takes place after Christmas which draws large crowds to the village.
The Club building was last upgraded in the 1980s and now needs a major refurbishment most especially dedicated facilities for women players.
The following initiatives are planned:
- New Timber Floor to Alley;
- New Dressing rooms / Male and Female;
- New Public Toilets;
- New Exercise / Meeting Room;
- New Heating and Ventilation system;
- New Tiered Viewing Area;
- New Public Entrance and corridor accessible from the street;
- Internal redecoration;
- Painting externally.
The cost of these improvements are estimated at €50,000 which will be funded by the proceeds of the 500 Club promotion and a capital grant from the Department of Sports. In order to apply for the sports capital grant the Club must have raised its own funding which is why we are promoting the 500 Club now.
