On 11th March 2017 GAA Handball conducted two One Wall Handball Workshops in Croke Park for Primary School Teachers in Ireland.
Both workshops were 70 minutes long and included a brief introduction to all codes of handball. However, the sessions mainly focused on the rising success of the Schools’ One Wall Initiative. The workshops saw a combined total of 40 teachers experience a very practical and hands on session which included; an introduction to the rules of game, coaching tips, drills and progressions which then culminated in a group participation game.
The works shops ended with a brief discussion in the dimensions and adaptability of One Wall courts in schools, the growth of the game both domestically and internationally and how every school can introduce handball to their Physical Education curriculum at a very low cost.
