International Elite vie for World Glory

Tomorrow (Tuesday 14th August) sees the much anticipated Men's Open 4-Wall grade begin at the 2018 World Handball Championships in Minnesota, where a stacked 33 man field hosts the best international talent on both sides of the Atlantic.

There are so many questions on everyone's lips. Can anyone stop Paul Brady winning his 6th consecutive World title, spanning 15 years? Can the top ranked player in World Handball at present Killian Carroll land the only title eluding him at the second attempt? Can Team Ireland Captain Martin Mulkerrins add maiden World glory to his maiden All-Ireland success in March? Can 3 time All-Ireland champ Robbie McCarthy fly under the radar and storm to the title? Can the top American's oust the top Irish as the games elite?

We will all know by Saturday's 11am Final (US time), with one round per day commencing from 9am Tuesday.

On paper, the top Irish guys should all progress as expected tomorrow. Clare's Diarmuid Nash faces Californian Loren Collado, with Nash's doubles partner Robbie McCarthy taking on local Minnesota player Quinn Foley. Team captain Martin Mulkerrins faces Missouri's Jeff Streibig, while Paul Brady plays Mexico's Ricardo Hernandez Jr.

That is of course just the Team Ireland squad members, and is only the tip of the talent.

Killian Carroll is most peoples favourite, whilst top American's Sean Lenning, Mando Ortiz, Emmet Peixoto, and the Cordova brothers Daniel & Luis all know on their day they can trouble anyone.
