The Inaugural Wall Ball Championships takes place on Saturday 12th November in the Mattie McDonagh Centre Ballygar, Co. Roscommon and is being hosted by the Mount Talbot Club.
The Wall Ball code has been played in Ireland for the past twenty years and was pioneered by Sligo Handball for many years before GAA Handball took over the running of the Nationals which in recent years are played on the first weekend of July. This code is now one of the fastest growing sports in Ireland with clubs and schools playing the wall ball game in every county in Ireland.
On Saturday 12th November the cream of the Irish Wall Ballers will converge on Mount Talbots four courts in what’s promises to be an exciting day at the first ever GAA Handball Wall Ball Championships. The action kicks off at 10.30am with the semi-finals in the eleven grades to be played, followed by the Finals starting at 2pm approximately.
