Hardball Doubles Semi Finals Report

The line-up for the Senior Hardball Doubles Final was confirmed over the weekend with two very tight semi-finals played in Ballina, Tipperary on Saturday afternoon.

Dublin’s Eoin Kennedy and Carl Browne have continued their winning partnership but they had to dig deep to overcome Kerry’s Dominic Lynch and John Joe Quirke. Dublin took the first 21-18 but Kerry responded and took the second 21-14 to setup an interesting tie-break which was hard to call. But in the end the Dubs took the third game 21-12.

The second semi-final was between Limerick’s CJ Fitzpatrick and Pat Murphy and they faced the fancied Kilkenny pair of Michael “Ducksy” Walsh and Ciaran Neary. There was very little between both teams but Limerick just edged both games to advance to the final on a scoreline of 21-17, 21-15.

The final takes place in a fortnights with the action next weekend switching back to the Hardball Singles competitions which are down to the semi-finals stages.
