Armagh’s teenage Handballer Cailiosa Ni Dhuill has just returned from a school trip to St Patrick’s Missionary in Kenya, where as part of an international project to help the poverty crisis in the country, introduced Handball to the locals, as well as other Irish traditions.
“During my nine day venture I visited many primary and secondary schools and my team and I provided many needed resources but also portrayed different Irish traditions to the children such as the language, singing, dancing, hurling, football and handball.”
“The children, having very little possessions of their own, were beyond excited when presented with handballs and were eager to get stuck in. I’m sure they are still having mini games of handball today.”
Thanks for sharing details and images of your experience Cailiosa!
