GAA Handball 40x20 Interclub Championship 2015

This year's 40x20 Interclub Championships takes place in Cork venues this weekend as Mallow, Liscarroll and Conna play host to the top handball club teams from the 32 counties as they battle for All Ireland success.

The Open competition has a very unfamiliar look to it with Kells (Kilkenny) versus Glenbeigh (Kerry) after last year’s winners Ballaghaderren had to pull out today as they could not field a team. Kells are a very young strong team with the likes of Patrick and Peter Funchion supported by Brian Manogue and Dan Breen while Glenbeigh after their Munster success have experience on their side with Dominick Lynch, John Joe Quirke assisted by Jack O’Shea and Rory O’Connor. The final is fixed for 12noon and time will tell as to who will take this years title.

Unfortunately in the Intermediate grade this year there was only one entry. While in the Junior competition St. Brigids, Curraghboy play the local side Liscarroll in what promises to be a tight game. Waiting in the final is the vastly experience Kells team from Meath, a fantastic battle is in store.

Finally in the Junior B competition the action kicks off with Claremorris (Mayo) taking on Ballyporeen (Tipperary) at 11am in Conna following this the winners will play Kilmyshall (Wexford) in the final at 2pm.

A great days Handball is in store at these Cork venues as the 2015 season comes to an end, please show your support for all your club teams that are in action this Saturday 12th December.
