Four set to battle it out for position of Uachtarán

Four candidates will battle it out on Sunday next at the GAA Handball National AGM for the position of Uachtarán Tofa and the chance to replace current incumbent Offaly's Joe Masterson at the 2020 AGM. 

Tipperary's Ken Conway, Mayo's Dessie Keegan, Tyrone's Eugene Maguire and Galway's Seamus E O Flatharta are the men in contention for the position. 

Ken Conway from the Clonmel club in Tipperary will bid to become the 9th Munster President in the history of the Association following in Clare man Willie Roche's footsteps who held the position from 2014 - 2017.  

Ballaghaderreen's, Dessie Keegan is aiming to be the third Mayo President and Micheal Breathnach clubman Seamus E O Flatharta aiming to become the second man from Galway to hold the office, both are bidding to become Connacht's sixth President and first since Roscommon's Tony Hannon held the reins from 2009 - 2011. 

Carrickmore clubman Eugene Maguire will bid to become the sixth Ulster President and first since Belfast's Sean McEntee held the post from 1993 -1996. 

Leinster lead the way with 13 Presidents over the 94 years with Munster holding the position 8 times and Connacht and Ulster holding it 5 times. 

Come Sunday evening one of the four men will become Uachtarán Tofa and in 12 months time the 32nd President of GAA Handball.
