Meath's Brian Carroll & Tom Sheridan claimed their fourth Hardball Senior Doubles title with victory over Dublins Eoin Kennedy & Carl Browne in Mullingar on Saturday last.
The Meath duo, one of the most successful doubles teams in GAA Handball started at a blistering pace and raced to a 21-2 victory in the first before the Dublin duo could find their form. The second was a tighter affair with Dublin coming more into the game and a number of quality rallies ensued. Meath were not going to be denied and were too strong on the day as they closed out the game and captured their fourth title on a 21-2, 21-15 scoreline.
Earlier in Mullingar Kilkenny's Eoin Brennan and Jack Doyle overcame Mayo's Patrick Murphy and Lorcan Conlan in a three game thriller on a 21-6, 8-21, 21-14 scoreline to secure the Minor Hardball Doubles title.
Elsewhere it was a double success for Meath as they also captured the Junior Doubles title as Peter Reilly and Joe Cummins teamed up to defeat Limerick's Denis Donegan and Shane Murphy in Thurles coming through in three games 19-21, 21-6, 21-19.
Also in Thurles, the Intermediate Hardball Doubles title went to Leeside as Cork's Michael Hedigan and Donnacha O'Dea defeated Kilkenny's William and Daniel Love as they also went to a third game finally capturing the title on a 21-6, 9-21, 21-19 scoreline.
