Mallow’s David Walsh has really enjoyed his festive period by claiming the 63rd Annual US Junior Nationals Premier 19&U title in Portland, US.
Having seen off challenges from Arizona, Illinois & Ireland en route to the final, the Cork man impressively defeated highly rated Canadian Michael Gaulton in the decider after Gaulton seen off the challenge of Walsh’s club mate Michael O’Malley in the bottom SF.

- QF: David Walsh dft Devin Peters (Illinois) 21-11, 21-12
- SF: David Walsh dft Patrick Murphy (Mayo) 21-16, 21-14
- Final: David Walsh dft Michael Gaulton (Canada) 21-11, 21-13
There were a few other notable performances from Irish players, with Mayo's Patrick Murphy & Cork's Michael O'Malley reaching the 19&U Singles SF's, whilst Murphy teamed up with Walsh to claim silver in the 19&U Doubles. See below link to full draw tree results.
