Following a recent meeting of GAA Handball Ard Comhairle, the impact of the Covid-19 restrictions on GAA Handball clubs was discussed and the following has been decided in relation to Club Registrations for the coming year.
GAA Handball Ard Comhairle acknowledged the difficult year that 2020 was for clubs and agreed unanimously that support was needed for GAA Handball clubs going forward. The following decisions were approved on the night.
- Club Registration Fees: A decision has been made to extend the current registration year to 31st March 2021. All registered clubs in 2020 will be covered up until this date. Further details on registration fees for 2021 will be determined by the situation with regards to Covid-19 in the new year.
- Covid Support Funding: The details of the Covid support funding from Sport Ireland for GAA Handball clubs is being finalised at present and details of this will be released shortly. Clubs will be required to fill out an application form to be eligible for any support funding and this form will be distributed in the coming weeks. (www.gaahandball.ie/news/covid-support-funding)
- Online Membership System: There will be a new online registration system coming in to operation in the new year which will make registrations more streamlined, efficient and governance compliant. This new system will ease the burden on GAA Handball officials and make collecting registrations a much simpler process.

All clubs will be asked to return a number of details in the coming weeks to set up the system and it is vital that clubs respond to the emails in a timely fashion to allow a smooth transfer to the online system. An email with further details will be sent out in this regard in the coming weeks.
