Bratislava Open Wallball Tournament

The Bratislava Open Wallball tournament was held last weekend in Bratislava, Slovakia. It was organised by Fion O Suilleawan, originally from County Longford. Fion and his colleagues run the Slovak Shamrocks GAA Club, which was established in 2011.

There were about sixteen participants and each of them including President GAA Handball, played at least six games. The venue was changed at the last minute, due to unforeseen circumstances. It was well run, in a very sporting fashion. Fion's father, Ollie, travelled from Drumlish, Co Longford. There are several different nationalities at the Club, including Irish, Greek and Canadian. Conor McDonnell, Uachtaran, GAA Handball presented medals to the winners and runners up at the end of the event. Well done to all involved. Bratislava is a nice city on the River Danube, and well worth a visit, and of course, a game of Wallball with Slovak Shamrocks.
