The official Irish squad departs Dublin Airport this morning, bound for New York, where they will represent Ireland at the World Wallball Championships, which get underway on Monday.
The tournament will be hosted across iconic venues in Brooklyn, including Coney Island and St. John’s Recreation Center, before culminating in the finals in Central Park.
This is a fitting stage for the Championships. New York is widely regarded as the spiritual home of one-wall handball—the version of the sport that is now known internationally as wallball.
We extend our best wishes to all players and management as they take to the international stage for GAA Handball. Good luck—and enjoy every moment of the Championships.
