The Ard Comhairle (Central Council) is the national governing committee for GAA Handball, responsible for the promotion, rules, and development of the sport. It acts as the main decision-making body, overseeing the four handball codes - 4-Wall, Wallball, 60x30 [Softball & Hardball].

Structure:
The Ard Comhairle shall consist of the following:
- President
- Head of Handball
- President-elect (if in office)
- The immediate past President for the year following their term as President
- Chairperson of each Provincial Council
- A Representative of GAA Management
- Chairperson of the Finance Committee
- Chairperson of the Ladies’ Committee
- Chairperson of Coaching & Development Committee
- 2 non-GAA Handball Representatives
