Welcome to GAA Handball Anti-Doping section.
The GAA Anti-Doping Rules are based on the rules adopted by Sport Ireland, which apply to all members.
GAA Handball Anti-Doping Education Plan, in collaboration with Sport Ireland.
Currently, all players entering the Senior Championship and national events, such as the She’s ACE events, Adult Nationals, and any competitions where entries are made through Clubforce, are directed to the Sport Ireland Clean Sport resources to self‑educate on the most up‑to‑date Anti-Doping information. This process will continue for all general tournament entries; however, our elite players will be required to complete the structured education pathway outlined below.
STAGE 1
Basic Anti-Doping Education
- It is important that every unit familiarises themselves with GAA Handball’s commitment to Clean Sport.
We ask each Club Secretary to:
- - circulate the flyer to all members, and
- - display it on club notice boards.
As part of this introductory education, Sport Ireland staff will attend specific major competition days at the National Handball Centre, dates to be confirmed. Sport Ireland Staff will be available to offer insights into:
- the education processes,
- Anti-Doping procedures,
the expectations placed on elite Senior players regarding testing, reporting, and compliance
STAGE 2
Mandatory Education
- All entrants to the Senior Championships must complete the e‑Learning module provided through the GAA.
- Access the online module here.
STAGE 3
International Education
- The international education stage applies to players and management representing GAA Handball at international level. These individuals must complete the WADA ADEL (Anti-Doping Education and Learning)
- Access the online module here.
