Club School Link Programme Deadline

Share this page:

A reminder, the recently launched Club-School Link Programme deadline is approaching.

The Club-School Link Programme will provide a 6-week coaching block, which will be delivered by a club coach, followed by the transition period to the GAA Handball Club. To achieve this, clubs are encouraged to provide an Open Day/Taster Session for all the new juveniles, with the opportunity to access the club environment, meet club reps and be provided with a pathway into club membership. A follow up coaching block (e.g. 4-weeks) will be the next step, providing the juveniles further opportunities to learn and develop their handball skills.

A support grant will be made available, including equipment, coach hours and access to facility development grant [wallball/1-Wall].

This is a great opportunity for clubs and schools to join forces to promote our sport, an opportunity to gain new members, and support the development of the next generation via physical activity and GAA Handball – A Sport For Life!

Due to demand, GAA Handball will be hosting a lunchtime webinar on Monday 12th October at 12.30pm for all interested clubs to answer any questions. Interested reps can register HERE

Questions can be submitted in advance at WEBINAR QUESTIONS

Why get involved in the Club-School Link Programme?

  1. Increased juvenile club membership, participation and retention.
  2. Greater visibility and awareness of the GAA Handball club.
  3. Sustainable school–club partnerships.
  4. Access to funding support e.g. equipment, coach hours, and facility development
  5. Strengthen club structures and promote compliance.
  6. Provide a flexible sporting opportunity for schools with limited space or access to facilities.
  7. Increase engagement or opportunities for new or underrepresented groups
  8. (e.g. girls, teenagers, children with disability or SEN, younger children age U6 - U10).
  9. Increased opportunities for lifelong participation in physical activity.

* Important: A club coach or rep must be available to attend the weekly school sessions to create a positive Club link with the School. Without this, the pathway for new players may be impacted.
