Beidh an t-aon fhéile Liathróid Láimhe a tharlaíonn ar oileán mara ar siúl in Inis Mór, Co. na Gaillimhe arís i mbliana. Is cinnte go mbeidh mórbhuaiteoirí na bliana anuraidh ar ais chun a gcraobha a chosaint. Anuraidh i gComórtas na mBan, is ag Lorraine Havern a bhí an bua ar deireadh tar éis sárchoimhlinte le Eimear ni Bhiadha. Once again, Cumann Liathróid Láimhe Inis Mór is hosting the only offshore handball competitions in Ireland again this year for the Seventh Year, Welcoming back our winners from last year are sure to be back to defend their prestigious titles.
In last year’s Ladies Open competition, Lorraine Havern was the eventual winner in a closely fought battle against Eimear ni Bhiadha. The Men's Open Final Paudie Quish once again made it through to the Men's Open Final after losing out to C.J. Fitzpatrick in 2015, the challange came from Martin Mulkerrins, who eventually overcoming Paudie Quish in a showdown of Handball.
This year there is an Evening Buffet on the Saturday 13th May for a get together for food and Music in the Aran Islands Hotel. The Hotel is offering a very special price EUR 15.00 Adult and EUR 7.00 Child and there will be music afterwards for us all to relax and wind down after a busy day. This can be booked in advance on the entry form.
We are looking forward to welcoming all our handballer friends back to the island again this year to what promises to be a feast of handball and a fun-filled weekend. As always, we expect big numbers in all competitions so make sure to have your entries in on time (14th April 2017). A list of accommodation is attached. Island Ferries are offering a special rate to handballers who pre-book before 4th May 2017.
