On Sunday 3rd Sept 2017, Millmount Handball Club, in conjunction with the Wolf Tones GAA Football Club, in County Louth, held a ‘Family Fun Day’ in the Wolfe Tones GAA grounds.
The Millmount Club constructed a Mini One Wall Handball Wall in a bid to entice parents and children alike to sample the game and engage in a fun and skilful activity. The juveniles of the Handball Club also showed their skill set by playing some exhibition games among themselves.
The idea was very well received and the Handball Club were highly praised for their efforts on the day in question. As the ‘fun day’ was for mixed codes of GAA, it also included running events, penalty kicks, target golf, juvenile mini football matches, point scoring competitions etc.,
However, the primary focus of the event was that the Wolfe Tones GAA Club are in the process of developing the construction of a 40x20 Handball Court within their grounds. This would be hugely beneficial to the local area and the handball community at large.
