GAA Handball are delighted to announce that our website www.gaahandball.ie has won the Best Sports Site category at the 2015 Realex Payments Web Awards!
Although we faced some stiff competition at this year’s awards, our hard work really paid off and we would like to pay a huge thank you to the team at WebTogether who worked tirelessly with us for 6 months in making the new site. Their team worked closely with GAA Handball to create a website reflective of this high-energy sport with a special focus on a unique and exciting user experience. To achieve this a dynamic and responsive website was developed, segregated into different sections and created specific user paths for the different users we determined would be assessing the www.gaahandball.ie.
A big focus of the project was ensuring that the site’s design is easy on the eye. By using a dark grey, white and green colour display combination we were able to create a design aesthetic that is both inviting and easily navigated. The information presented on the site is done so in a neat manner with plenty of space between text, images and links. We believe that this attractive but simple design was a key factor in the judge’s decision.
The result is an exciting and modern website designed to provide handball fans and players with everything they need from club locations and fixtures to information for coaches and schools. We’re extremely proud of the award and look forward to building on this success by adding new features to the website in 2016.
