  • With the 2018 Feile taking place in Galway venues this weekend, we have pieced together some fun facts regarding previous winners.
  • In 35 years of the event, only 6 Counties have claimed Gold in the Boys Division 1.
  • Tyrone lead the way with 8 wins but could be matched this year if a Kilkenny Club claims the title, which would be for the 3rd successive year; Galmoy 2017, Windgap 2016.

  • Two Clubs sit top of the pile with four wins each; Carrickmore of Tyrone & Coolboy of Wicklow.
  • Only Kells (Kilkenny) can join the duo a top of the list with a win this year.
  • Carrickmore are the only Club to have ever won 3 successive Division 1 Boys Titles; 2000 - 2002

  • Roscommon & Kildare are the two most successful Girls Counties in Division terms.
  • 4 of the 5 Roscommon wins have come from the St Comans Club, whilst Leixlip have claimed all 5 of the Kildare wins.
  • There is a good chance of a first time Division 1 winner in 2018 however, with Clogh (Kilkenny) the only team of the 5 competing having previously won the title.

  • Only 6 Clubs have won multiple Girls Division 1 Titles
  • However none of these Clubs will be represented in Division 1 this weekend
  • Clogh (Kilkenny) & Micheal Breathnach (Galway) have the chance to join this Club on 2+ wins this weekend

  • Tipperary clearly lead the way in Softball wins with 10. Next in line being Wexford with 6.
  • In total 9 counties have claimed Division 1 wins.

  • Wexford's Castlebridge HC are top dogs with 5 Softball wins, closely followed by Tipperary duo Lahorna & Ballina with 4 apiece
  • Castlebridge and Lahorna are both competing again this year but face a stiff task against reigning champs Kilfane
