Juvenile Finals Round-Up

Nine counties come home from Kingscourt tonight with All-Ireland Juvenile titles after another successful days Handball.

The first game of the today was a tiebreak battle as young Galway girl Niamh Heffernan took the first, and pushed Armagh's Dearbhla Coleman all the way before the Clann Eireann girl won 15-11 in the third to seal the GU14 Singles. The BU14 Singles won was by Tyrone's Lorcan McBride after a very assured performance from the Carrickmore club man saw him defeat Cork's Cian O'Driscoll 15-11, 15-2.

Kildare duo Mollie Dagg/Jade Treacy sealed the GU14D with a dominant 15-4 first game win over Mayo's Megan Brett/Cuileann Bourke, before the Mayo girls made a real go of the second, falling 15-13. The BU14D went to Tipperary's Matthew Spain/Sean Hayes who saw off the tough challenge of Wexford's Josh McMahon/Cian Kehoe 15-14, 15-14 in arguably the game of the day.

Inis Mor man Peter Donohue produced a powerful performance to defeat Tyrone's Cormac Munroe 21-6, 21-10 to claim the U14 Singles crown, which added to his 2014 13&U Junior Nationals title. Tipperary's talented Sinead Meagher then claimed the GU16 Singles title with a tough 21-13, 21-14 over Armagh's Megan McCann.

Mayo's Maggie Byrne & Dayna Finn were very impressive as they won the GU16 Doubles final, defeating Sorcha Delany & Margaret Purcell 21-1, 21-7. Cork's sole win of the day came in the BU16 Doubles as the talented duo of Tadgh O'Neill & David Walsh sealed victory with a 21-9, 21-19 win over Tyrone's Turlough Clarke & Darragh Canavan.
