![]() The success enjoyed by the Wexford doubles partnership of Barry Goff and Colin Keeling continues to gain momentum and the duo delivered another significant blow to any rivals intent on taking their crown in 2012 on Saturday. In a highly competitive field for the Mens Open Nationals in Talbot's Inch, Goff and Keeling delivered a series of impressive displays to claim back to back triumphs in the Irish Nationals event, thus remaining the only players to have won the title in the competition which was launched for the first time in 2011. Wins over Nicky Anthony and Brian Manogue (Kilkenny) by 31-5, was followed by a very decisive 31-13 victory over Senior SIngles champion, Robbie McCarthy (Westmeath) and Wicklow's Micahel Gregan. In the final they met Dublin's Eoin Kennedy who teamed up with his 2009 World doubles partner, Cavan's Michael Finnegan. That partnership had eyecatching wins over 2011 doubles runners-up, Dessie Keegan and Joe McCann (Mayo) and Carl Browne and Brian Carroll (Meath) to make the final. Goff and Keeling held the vital answers in a hugely entertaining final in Talbot's Inch to win outright 31-24. Elsewhere on Saturday there were boys Junior grades also and at 13 & Under level there was a repeat title win for Tyrone's Sean Kerr and Pauric Mullan, that pairing denying Shane Dunne and Padraig Cooney of Kilkenny in the final by 31-13. There was a double win for the Mullan clan of Tyrone also as Ryan Mullan then teamed up with Tipperary's Daniel Hayes to score a fine win in a very competitive Boys 15 & Under doubles grade. They defeated Kilkenny's JJ English and Sean Carey in the final by 31-13. The Carlow/Wexford pairing of Martin Mullins and Galen Riordain took the honours at 17 & under level when they defeated Cork's Daniel Relihan and Michael Hedigan in the final by 31-22. In the Mens B Doubles, it was a win for the Munster partnership of Brendan Fleming (Cork) and Paudi Quish (Limerick) as they teamed up to defeat Paul Lambert (Wexford) and David Hope (Offaly) in the decider by 31-22. There was also a big draw in the Mens C Doubles in Garryhill, Carlow, on Saturday and in the end the honours went toi Kilkenny with Diarmuid Burke and Brendan Burke teaming up to get the better of Anthony Donnelly and Sean Murphy (Limerick) in the final on a 31-15 scoreline. A host of other grades will take place in Kilkenny throughout Sunday in another exciting day of traditional 60x30 action and updates will be available here on the National Official site.
